I feel deeply honored to be a recipient of the Presidential Award for science. I'm very grateful to be recognized for all my hard work to improve science literacy in my district. No other award acknowledges the importance of science literacy in the elementary grades, and I'm proud to have been chosen to receive such an honor. This prestigious award not only honors me, but also the Shaker Regional School District, where considerable effort has been made to improve science education districtwide.
