Katherine Schack has been an educator for 12 years, teaching first and second grade in the Wentzville School District at Lakeview Elementary School. In 2014, she became the first K-8 Mathematics Coach/Content Lead in her district.
Katherine has served on several district-level committees including the Mathematics Curriculum Writing Team, Assessment Writing Team, and Curriculum Review Committee. While still in the classroom, Katherine served as a Singapore Math trainer, serving the district’s 10 elementary schools. This past year, she took the lead in organizing and implementing the district’s New Teacher Math Curriculum Training and Beyond Math In Focus Training. Katherine has also presented at the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Interface, and the Missouri Staff Development Council conferences, where she presented STEM in the classroom and increasing student conversations.
In her current role as K–8 Mathematics Coach, Katherine works hand-in-hand with teachers to increase student engagement, allow for problem solving within and beyond the classroom, and aid in creating a structure of learning in the classroom in which all students can be met on their individual level and students are able to take ownership of their learning.
Katherine has a B.A. in elementary education and M.A. in teaching from Lindenwood University. She is also certified in reading and middle school mathematics.
