Kristina Kellogg has been an educator for 15 years. She is currently a Mathematics Specialist and previously taught mathematics and science at Watkins Elementary School. Kristina also taught at Truesdell Elementary School and Burning Tree Elementary School.
Kristina uses the Math Workshop Model to build comprehension. Students strengthen fluency with the use of manipulatives, solve real-world tasks, engage in mathematical conversations, and make connections across concepts. As a District Teacher Lead, she shares these strategies to support her colleagues.
Districtwide, Kristina has been a consulting teacher in mathematical content knowledge and instructional best practices. Her awards include Highly Effective Teacher 2012, 2013, and 2015; Elevating and Celebrating Teachers and Teaching with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and the 2014 Watkins Teacher of the Year. She is a 2015 Mickelson ExxonMobil Ambassador and an iDC Blended Learning Ambassador. She is also a member of the National Science Teachers Association and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Kristina has a B.A., cum laude, in elementary education from the University of the District of Columbia and is currently pursuing a M. Ed. in educational administration from Concordia University. She is certified in first through sixth grade elementary education and is a National Board Certified Early Childhood Generalist.
