Cynthia Evarts has been a teacher for more than 30 years, with the last 10 years at Orchard View Intermediate School, Rosemont Elementary School, and Martinsburg South Middle School. Cynthia uses a co-teaching framework in her fourth and fifth grade classes to deliver challenging mathematics that integrates science and technology to her students.
Her true love is mathematics and her classes are built around inquiry, exploration, and discovery. She believes that inspiring students is the first step in teaching. Whether she is teaching ratios, LEGO robotics, or cryptology, she focuses on making math a real-life experience so that her students understand that mathematics can be a journey of discovery. She also trains teachers and parents in robotics and has coached and mentored FIRST LEGO League teams.
