The official biography below was current at the time of the award.
Liviu Paul Haiducu has spent the last 16 years teaching all levels of physics, from regular to Advanced Placement, and mathematics at Avon High School and Avon Advanced Learning Center.
Liviu, a Romanian American, was blessed with an enticingly exotic and unique personal life and professional path. Having been interested in and exposed to several educational systems, he adapted and applied the best practices witnessed across his experiences to the learning process of his students.
Liviu’s passion for physics goes well beyond his classroom. Using grants and personal funds, he created the Power of Physics Project, which aims at increasing the exposure to and excitement about physics at pre-collegiate levels. Through commercials and shows staged at a variety of educational venues, the project’s objective is to increase Indiana-based students’ excitement and interest in physics and science.
Since 2012, Liviu has been involved as a presenter in the Advanced Placement Training and Incentive Program (AP-TIP) through the University of Notre Dame, which guides schools to student success in AP testing.
Liviu Haiducu has a B.S. in physics and biophysics from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a M.S. in physics and biophysics from Purdue University. He is a certified physics and mathematics teacher for grades 5-12.
