The Presidential Award is a very prestigious award, acknowledging the dedication and commitment of teachers who pursue excellence in the classroom. I am extremely humbled and honored to be regarded as a PAEMST Awardee. This award reflects not only my commitment, but also that of my colleagues, mentors, and family who have contributed to my growth as an educator. The Presidential Award is an affirmation that I am moving in the right direction as I strive to become a better educator every day.

Tiffany Taylor Rogers, AR | 7-12, Science, 2017

Tiffany Taylor has been teaching for nine years and spent the last seven years at Rogers Heritage High School where she is currently the Science Academic Facilitator. She previously taught 10th-12th-grade students in Physics, Advanced Placement Physics 1 and Advanced Placement Physics 2. Tiffany has also taught at Pea Ridge Middle School and Decatur High School. Tiffany’s passion for teaching has motivated her to find ways to make learning meaningful. In the classroom, she implements Modeling Instruction, an inquiry-based instructional method that enhances student learning by developing scientific models to explain phenomena. Each unit concludes with a lab practical; student favorites have included constant velocity buggy collisions and launching marbles at toy ships. Tiffany has served as a presenter on instructional practices in her district and for the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Science. Her school leadership roles include Science Department Chair, Professional Learning Communities leadership team, and Response to Intervention leadership team. In 2018, she was named the National PhysTEC Teacher of the Year. Tiffany holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Tulsa; a M.Ed. in kinesiology from the University of Virginia; a B.A. in physics from the University of Arkansas; and a M.A.T. from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Her licensure includes 7-12 Physical/Earth Science and P.E. & Health.
