The Presidential Award reflects over a decade of support, encouragement, and inspiration from students, colleagues, family, and the community. From my curious, ingenious sixth graders, I have learned that teaching is a mirror of the student/teacher relationship; it is grounded in trust and thrives when the teacher embraces learning and the learner actively teaches. Together, questions are created and answered, grit and determination are developed, and diverse experiences are embraced.
